Ferrosilicon

  Ferrosilicon is a ferroalloy composed of iron and silicon. Ferrosilicon is an iron-silicon alloy made of coke, steel scrap, quartz(or silica) as raw materials and smelted in an electric furnace. Because silicon and oxygen can be easily synthesized into silicon dioxide, ferrosilicon is often used in steelmaking as a deoxidizer, while the generation of SiO2 due to the release of a large amount of heat, in the deoxidation at the same time, the temperature of the steel is also beneficial to improve.
 At the same time,ferrosilicon can also be used as an alloying element adding agent, widely used in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel,bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical silicon steel, ferrosilicon in the production of ferroalloys and chemical industry, commonly used as a reducing agent.
